NCCT thanks the Ice Age Trail Alliance for their work building a new section of trail on the Rice Lake Preserve in Marathon County!
This newly built section of Ice Age Trail through the Rice Lake Preserve has been a vision in the works for many people over many years.
In 2011, a portion of what is now the Rice Lake Preserve was donated to NCCT by the Pfleger Family Trust. In 2014, NCCT sold this property, protected with a conservation easement, to the Ice Age Trail Alliance so it could one day host the Ice Age Trail. This wonderous property is now more accessible than ever, thanks to the IATA’s dedicated Mobile Skills Crew volunteers, Central Moraines Chapter (Marathon County)-Ice Age Trail Alliance, and Ice Age Trail Alliance.
