The City of Stevens Point is partnering with North Central Conservancy Trust (NCCT), Central Rivers Farmshed, American Transmission Company (ATC), and UWSP Students for Sustainability to celebrate Earth Day 2021 with a fruit tree planting on April 19th.

The 24 fruit trees will be planted on Monday, April 19th at 12:00 pm at the NCCT property adjacent to Bukolt Park.  The area to be planted is along the Green Circle Trail and is located at the intersection of Old Wausau Road and Rachick Road.  The trail is on the south side of Rachick Road.

The City Forestry department received a grant from American Transmission Company for the purchase of the trees.  The fruit trees will be planted in an abandoned field where the fruits can be enjoyed by those passing by as-well-as wildlife.  Central Rivers Farmshed and UWSP Students for Sustainability will help keep the trees watered after planting.

If you would like more information, please call the Stevens Point Forestry Department at 715-346-1532 or check out the Central Rivers Farmshed Facebook page.

 Thank you

 Todd Ernster

City of Stevens Point Superintendent of Forestry
