NCCT is excited to participate in the 2022 Prairie Chicken Festival on Saturday, April 9th!
Wisconsin Prairie Chicken Festival is back in person! Gather together on the morning of Saturday, April 9 to learn, educate, promote and discuss why a diversity of habitat is important to the birds, bees, and the people that call this part of Central Wisconsin home. The theme for the 2022 Wisconsin Prairie Chicken Festival is Living in a Healthy Place.
This year’s festival included a wide variety of activities:
-Reserve a seat in an observation blind to watch the displays of male prairie-chickens on private grasslands;
-Breakfast hosted by the Farmers of Mill Creek Watershed Council;
-Birds, Bees and Business – How They Work Together: conversations and stories about living, working and recreating in an area many grassland species call home; and
-Walk with Boomin’ Bob and discover spring bird species.
